Thelma Linder

Thelma Linder, 92, of Hickman, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at Obion County Nursing Home. Born August 30, 1932, in Ridgely, Tennessee, to Ivy Loyd "Shine" Johnson and Nannie Crews Johnson, Thelma lived a life filled with family, faith, and quiet strength.

She was a devoted wife to her late husband, Charles Houston Linder, and a loving mother to her sons, Charles Johnson (Lora) Linder and the late John Whitson Linder of Hickman, KY. Thelma’s legacy extends to her two grandchildren, Samuel Houston (Brittany) Linder and Patrick Lynn (Tayler) Linder, both of Hickman, Kentucky, and her two cherished great-granddaughters, Lily and Molly Linder, also of Hickman. She is further survived by her brother-in-law, Richard Gouger; two nieces and one nephew.

Preceding Thelma in death, in addition to her husband and son, was her sister, Shirley Gouger.

Thelma's life was a testament to her gentle spirit and unwavering faith. She was a former Deputy Clerk for the Fulton County Circuit Court Clerk's Office for twenty years. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

The family is very appreciative of the care and compassion that was shown by the staff of Obion Co Nursing home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at the Cayce Methodist Church where she was also a member, with Pastor Chris Gouger officiating. Burial will follow in the Cayce Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the hour of service.

Active Pallbearers will be the following, Samuel Linder, Patrick Linder, Nathan Cochran, Alex Cochran, Jamie Cochran and Robert Woodruff. Honorary Pallbearers will be the following, Joe Kirk, John Kirk, Fonda Kirk Noles, Lorenzo Ware, Richard Gouger and Greg Chandler.
