Mrs. Tammy Austin, 66, of Union City, Tennessee, and formerly of Fulton, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at her residence.
Born on February 16, 1960, in Knoxville, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Albert Scarbro and Emma “Lou” Green of Knoxville, TN.
Tammy was a devoted member of First United Pentecostal Church. She was a graduate of University of Tennessee, where she earned her degree in nursing. Throughout her career, she worked as a clerk for Walmart and Citgo. Tammy had a caring spirit and a genuine love for helping others. She cherished her family deeply and found great joy in cooking, reading, and collecting movies. She also had a special fondness for the Winnie the Pooh character, Eeyore.
She is survived by her children: Ray Chesney of Murray, Kentucky; Melissa (Michael) Lofton of Seagoville, Texas; John Chesney of La Grange, Kentucky; Angie Chesney of Union City, Tennessee; Sarah Austin of Ocala, Florida; and Robert (Thao) Austin of Keller, Texas.
She is also survived by her grandchildren: Maeley Chesney of Murray, Kentucky; Joseph, Joshua, Jacob, Jeremiah, and Kaytee of Seagoville, Texas; Kloie Coates and Remi Chesney, both of Rockford, Illinois; and Benjamin Austin of Keller, Texas.
Additional survivors include her siblings: Kim Womack of Knoxville, Tennessee; Albert Scarbro Jr. of Knoxville, Tennessee; Sonya Mink of Knoxville, Tennessee; and Tanya Mary of Knoxville, Tennessee.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Austin, and her brother, Calvin Scarbro.
There will be no services held at the funeral home.
