Mrs. Cera Sue Sawyer, age 85, of South Fulton, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Baptist Health in Paducah, Kentucky.
She was born on October 18, 1940, in Seymour, Indiana, to the late Chester “Chet” Helmbrecht and Dorothy Ceasar Helmbrecht.
Mrs. Sawyer was a devoted member of Fulton Cumberland Presbyterian Church in South Fulton. She was formerly employed by the Ferry-Morse Seed Company in Fulton, Kentucky and CBK in Union City, Tennessee. Sue cherished time spent with her family, and her grandchildren were truly the pride and joy of her life.
She is survived by her loving husband, Leroy Sawyer, whom she married on August 9, 1959; two daughters, Tracey Mires and Tina (Jeff) Morris, both of South Fulton, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Dylan (Victoria) Mires of Paris, Tennessee, Jonathan Morris and Luke Morris, both of South Fulton, Tennessee; one great-granddaughter, Liv Mires; and one brother, Steve (Reva) Helmbrecht of Lexington, Kentucky.
Pallbearers will be Dylan Mires, Jonathan Morris, Luke Morris, Jeff Morris, James Turner, and Corky Adams.
Funeral services for Mrs. Sawyer will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at Fulton Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with burial to follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fulton Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 1159 Parker Road, South Fulton, TN 38257.
