Shirley Jackson

Mrs. Shirley Jean Jackson, a longtime resident of the Crutchfield Community and a current resident of Clinton, passed away May 5th, 2026, at Clinton Hickman County ICF. Shirley was 79 years old when she entered into eternal rest. Mrs. Jackson was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and was formerly employed as kitchen help at the Fulton County jail.

Shirley led a very active life, enjoying sewing, gardening, singing, and cooking. These, along with her family, brought her great joy.

She was born January 5th, 1947, to the late Cleatus Conner and Beatrice Jones Conner. Shirley is survived by her husband Mr. Danny Jackson, children, Ruth (David) Ferguson, Clinton, Ky.; Gregory Lomax, Mayfield, Ky.; Jeffrey (Theresa) Lomax, Mayfield, Ky. Stepchildren, Angela (Tracy) Johnson, Clinton, Ky.; Amy Massey, Clarksville, Tn.; and Ashely Jackson, Clinton, Ky.

Shirley is also survived by her grandchildren, Cheyenne Cabrera (Chris), Brandon (Amanda) Wilber, both of Clinton, Ky; Robert (Carol) Mullins, Clinton, Ky.; Andrew (Morgan) Ferguson, Clinton, Ky.; Noah (Shelby) Ferguson, Wickliffe, Ky.; Conner Lomax, Clinton, Ky.; Lucas Lomax, Mayfield, Ky.; Makenzie Lomax, Mayfield, Ky.; Jeremy (Stephanie) Johnson, Josh (Lauren) Williams, Clinton, Ky.; Hunter (Avery) Johnson, Clinton, Ky.; Jordan Massey, and Ericka Massey, Mayfield, Ky. Mrs. Jackson leaves behind nineteen great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by a sister, Ruth Barrett of South Fulton, Tn; and nephews Ronnie and Randy Barrett.

Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her daughter, Tammy Mullins, and son Robert Cobb, a brother, James Lynn Conner, as well as spouses Bobby Gene Cobb and Raymond Lomax, along with a grandson, Joey Massey.

Shirley will be remembered as a woman who was deeply loved by those who knew her. Her many family members serve as a testament to her life and the legacy she leaves behind.

Services for Mrs. Shirley Jackson will be held Friday, May 8th, 2026, at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel in Fulton, Ky. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. with the service beginning at 2:00 p.m.

Brother Randy McClure will be officiating, and interment at Rock Springs Cemetery.
