Sean Davis Campbell, 17, died the morning of Tuesday, March 3, 2026, near Petersburg, Indiana. Sean was born August 30, 2008, in Union City, Tennessee. He is survived by his parents, their spouses, sisters, and grandparents: Brooke Campbell, mother, and Casey Schraeder; Justin Campbell, father, and Stephanie Campbell; sisters Kaydee Campbell and Nadya Bryant; grandparents Joe and Katrina Campbell, Tommy and Susan Rodgers, Todd and Julie Schraeder, Steve Shepherd and Kathy Cheff; honorary brother, Dylan Gentry and girlfriend, Abby Eldredge, along with an abundance of aunts, uncles, cousins, and people who loved him.

A member of the Mount Vernon High School Class of 2026 (having completed his studies early at the end of 2025), Sean had just begun his dream job on Monday, March 2, with an apprenticeship as a diesel mechanic at Sternbergs Automotive Group in Evansville. Sean loved to spend time with family and friends, attended church with Abby and at First Presbyterian Church in Evansville. A lover of skateboarding, gaming, music, and comic books, Sean was a gentle giant who loved life and loved his people.

Visitation with the family will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Saturday, March 7, in fellowship hall at First Presbyterian Church, 609 SE Second St., Evansville, Indiana with a Celebration of Life Service following at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary; Rev. Mary Beth McCandless, presiding. 

Funeral services will be held at 1PM Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at the Cayce Methodist Church in Cayce, KY; Rev. Jim Wolfgang, presiding. Visitation will be held at the Cayce Methodist Church from 11AM Tuesday until the hour of service. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery on the Campbell family farm.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers or gifts, people consider contributing to the Petersburg and Patoka Township Fire Departments.
