Rev. Gene Hawks

Rev. Gene Hawks, age 61, of South Fulton, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday, December 7, 2025.

He was born on December 4, 1964, in Gary, Indiana, to the late Cecil Hawks and Annie Lou Hicks Hawks.

Rev. Hawks was the current minister at Mt. Zion Bible Church, where he faithfully served his congregation and community. He had a passion for carpentry and woodworking and found great joy in studying the Bible and sharing its teachings with others.

He is survived by his son, Lance Hawks of South Fulton, TN; a brother, Mike (Evelyn) McCoy; and two sisters, Sheila Fortner of Fulton, KY, and Brenda (Steve) Jobe of La Vergne, TN.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Bivens.

A memorial service to honor the life of Rev. Gene Hawks will be held at a later date.
