Mr. David Hicks of Springville, TN, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN.

Though his passing brings sorrow to those who knew and loved him, we find comfort in knowing that heaven rejoices at his arrival. David’s earthly journey of faith has now become a heavenly reality. He was a devoted Christian, a beloved husband, father, son, and friend whose life was marked by integrity, kindness, and unwavering faith.

David was born in Detroit, MI, to the late Robert J. (Jim) Hicks and June Jones Hicks. He was a member of South Fulton Baptist Church and graduated from South Fulton High School in 1969. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Economics) from the University of Tennessee at Martin in 1973, followed by a Master of Business Administration (Marketing) from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga the same year. He was also inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society in 1987. David was ordained as a Deacon at Central Baptist Church in Hixson, TX.

David dedicated 34 years of service to the Tennessee Valley Authority, where he worked in Materials Management Services. Throughout his distinguished career, he was actively involved in various professional organizations, including the Nuclear Supply Chain Strategic Leadership. He served as Secretary for the Nuclear Materials Management Exchange (National and Eastern Chapters) and as President of the Southeastern Chapter. David was the recipient of the Silver Award from the Office of Nuclear Management as a Team Leader and was a finalist in the RIT/USA Today Quality Cup Competition. He was also a Certified Team Advisor in Process Improvement, Reengineering, Benchmarking, and Quality Tools and Techniques.

David is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Candy Hicks; his son, Christopher David Hicks (Cody); sisters-in-law, Jackie Goins and Teresa Rodriguez (Eddie); his half-brother, Fred Domont; his aunt, Jane Mayo Venice; his uncle, Larry Jones; his devoted caregiver, Susan Cross; his lifelong friend, Rick Hopkins; and several other cherished family members and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. David Hicks will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 10, 2025, in our funeral chapel, with Dr. Ron Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Obion County Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 12:00 PM until the hour of service.
