Lula Mae Porter

Ms. Lula Mae Porter, age 75, of Hickman, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at her daughter’s residence.

She was born on April 9, 1950, in Hickman, Kentucky, to the late Leroy Hamil and Stella Rothman Hamil.

Ms. Porter was a member of David’s Chapel and worked as a self-employed hairdresser for many years. She was a lifelong resident of the Hickman area.

She is survived by two daughters, Lisa (David) Bowling of Hickman, Kentucky, and Kim (B.J.) McBride; four grandchildren, Shelby Qualls of Meridianville, Alabama, Madison Morris of Clinton, Kentucky, Brianna McBride of Union City, Tennessee, and Kailyn McBride of Union City, Tennessee; one great-grandchild, Kinsleigh Harris; one sister, Ruth Busby of Hickman, Kentucky; and one brother, Ray Hamil of Newbern, Tennessee.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Wayne Porter; a grandson, Austin Harris; and eleven siblings.

Funeral services for Ms. Lula Mae Porter will be held at 2PM Sunday, March 22, 2026 at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel in Hickman with burial to follow in the Hickman City Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel from 5-8PM Saturday.
