JW Ring

Mr. James Forrest "JW" Ring, age 89, of Louisville, KY, and formerly of Mayfield, KY, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025 at the Union City Baptist Hospital. JW was born in Lake County, TN, on December 17, 1935, to the late James Preston Ring and Myrtle McGee Ring. He was of the Pentecostal faith and was married to the late Shirley Jones Ring. Mr. Ring loved fishing and spending time with family. He was employed as a butcher during his working years.

Mr. Ring is survived by one daughter, Janet Harris of Louisville, KY, a brother, Charles (Teresa) Ring of Union City, TN, four step daughters, Sarah (Ronnie) Smith of Fancy Farm, KY, Brenda Booth of Wingo, KY, Cheryl Akers of Mayfield, KY and  Beverly McMillian of Union City, TN, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great - great grandchildren, and one sister, Margaret Mattox of Lebanon, TN. 

In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Robert Ring, one stepdaughter, Nancy Puckett, one brother, Fred Ring, and three sisters, Barbara Parsons, Cathrine Camp, and Gerldean Fraley.

There will be no services held at the funeral home. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
