Mrs. JoAnn Mathis Pharis, age 79, of Clinton, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, February 16, 2026. She was born on October 4, 1946, to the late James T. Mathis and Louise Hayse Mathis. On October 3, 1984, she married the love of her life, James “Jim” Pharis, who preceded her in death.

A devoted Christian, Mrs. Pharis was a faithful member of Parkway Church of Christ in Fulton, Kentucky, where she served as Bible Bowl Leader, a CYC Chaperone for many years and instrumental in the jail ministry. She was a graduate of Freed-Hardeman College and retired from Lockheed Martin Marietta USEC. She lived most of her life in the local area.

She is survived by her two sons, J. Michael Hinkle (Tracie) of Eddyville, Kentucky, and Scott Pharis of Clinton, Kentucky; three grandsons, Peyton Hinkle and Preston Hinkle, both of Eddyville, Kentucky, and Thatcher Pharis (Gracie) of Arizona; one great-grandson, Asher James Pharis of Arizona; two sisters, Phyllis Moore of Clinton, Kentucky, and Brenda McMillin (David) of South Fulton, Tennessee; as well as three nieces, three nephews, and their families.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Neil Mathis; one nephew, James Neil Mathis; and her grandparents.

Funeral services for Mrs. JoAnn Pharis will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2026, in the funeral home chapel. A private graveside service will follow in the Pleasant View Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday and from 11:00 a.m. on Saturday until the hour of service.
