She was a cook for the former Country Boy Restuarant in Fulton, KY.
She was a member of the former Palestine Methodist Church and
she had lived in this area all of her life.
She is survived by 2 daughters - Joan Vermillion of South Fulton,KY
& Maxine Matthews of Martin, TN and a son - W. C. Matthews of
South Fulton, TN.3 grandchildren: Joel Jackson of Chicago, IL,
Kim Clapper and Kelly Davis, both of South Fulton,TN. 10 great
grandchildren. 3 sisters: Lois Wright of Memphis, TN, Wilhila
Avery of Millington, TN and Cora Carroll of Ashland, Mississippi.
She was preceded in death by her husband - Lawrence Matthews,
a son - Jackie Matthews, her parents- J.C. & Willie (Sutton) Hardy, a grandson - Erik Vermillion, 4 brothers- James Hardy, William Hardy, Lloyd Hardy & J.C. Hardy, Jr. ; 3 sisters- Mary Weaver,Claudie Haynes and Mildred Arwood.
