Mr. Franklin Otts, age 76, of Fulton, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at Baptist Health Paducah in Paducah, Kentucky.
Mr. Otts was born on August 29, 1949, in Indianola, Mississippi, to the late Luther Clayton Otts and Mary Alice Stewart Otts.
A member of Fulton First Baptist Church, Franklin was well known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his family and community. In his younger years, he enjoyed a successful career as a professional boxer, competing as a cruiserweight and earning recognition in Golden Gloves and Gulf Coast boxing competitions. He later became a self-employed contractor, a profession he pursued for many years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Joy Elliott Otts; his children, James (Hannah) Clayton Otts of Fulton, Kentucky, Michelle (Bubba) Otts of Cleveland, Mississippi, Stephanie (Steve) Weaver of Sweetwater, Tennessee, and Jennifer (Art) Lacy of Horn Lake, Mississippi; twelve grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Otts and Randy Paul Otts.
Pallbearers will be Hunter Otts, Art Lacy, Terry Woods Jr, Steve Weaver, Bubba Bailey, Will Elliott and Wheeler Timbs.
Funeral services for Mr. Franklin Otts will be held at 12noon Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in the Clark Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10AM Wednesday until the hour of service.
