Frank Woolf

Frank Woolf, “Pops”, age 92, formerly of Fulton, KY, passed away Sunday, September 27th, 2026, in Lafayette, LA. Known for his sense of humor and his contagious smile, Frank was always able to make a stranger into a friend and create laughter out of thin air. He was a loyal and beloved friend, husband, father, and grandfather.

Frank was born on May 9, 1934, in Amory, Mississippi, to loving parents Frank and Mavis Woolf. He served his country as a member of the Army from 1953 to 1955.

In 1958, he earned his Bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University, a team he loyally cheered for each football season.

In 1956, Frank married the love of his life, Jane Smith. Together, they had three children: Al, David, and Anna. They built a life of laughter and love together until Jane’s passing. Later, Frank found love again and married Martha Long in 1999.

Frank’s career was full of passion and variety. He worked in the garment industry, eventually starting his own business crafting women’s clothing. During his 40s, he worked as a traveling thread salesman, where he was a friendly face all across the Mid-South. His final career before retirement was as a partner and manager for Buck’s Party Mart in Fulton.

Frank was a pillar in the Fulton community. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church and served as a devoted Boy Scout Leader, making a lasting impact on so many people. Frank also served as the President of the Fulton Country Club, where he was able to exercise his love for golf. He was also an accomplished painter. Many people have paintings of their homes that he did, which will always be a reminder of his artistic spirit.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mavis Woolf; his first wife and mother of his children, Jane Smith Woolf; his son, Al Woolf; his Great Granddaughter, Kirby Woolf; and his second wife, Martha Long Woolf. Frank is survived by his children, David Woolf (Denise) and Anna Woolf Styles (Todd), as well as his cherished grandchildren: Reginald Woolf (Skye), Alexander Lannom (Emily), Forrest Lannom (Lauren), Easten Woolf (Taylor), Trevor Lannom (Hannah), and Jane Lannom (Jake Eller). Frank’s legacy is also carried on through his great-grandchildren: Ripley Woolf, Ozzy Woolf, Nora Woolf, Charlotte Lannom, and Harper Lannom.

Memorial service arrangements are incomplete at this time.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to First United Methodist Church in Fulton, P.O. Box 1386, Fulton, KY 42041 where Frank took his children and spent many joyful Sundays. Frank’s life was a testament to love, joy, and the enduring bonds of family and friendship. He will be greatly missed and remembered forever.
