Denise Smith

Ms. Sara Denise Smith, age 72, of Hickman, KY, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at her residence.

She was born in Union City, TN, to the late Edward B. Wiley, Sr., and Lillie Mae Pearson Wiley.

Denise was a devoted caretaker who touched the lives of many. She had a passion for collecting Native American artifacts, enjoyed playing the guitar, and loved writing and singing. Photography was another of her many interests.

She is survived by her daughter, Rachel (Michael) Brislin of Buford, GA; her son, Arthur (Anna) Arnold of Memphis, TN; and four grandchildren: Adriana Knee, Ariel Bawol, Justin Bawol, and Caroline Arnold. She is also survived by one great-granddaughter, Charlotte Bawol.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Glenda Cochrum and Patricia Shafer, and one brother, Edward “Bud” Wiley, Jr.

A memorial visitation will be held at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel in Hickman Saturday, January 17, 2026 from 1-3PM .
