Mrs. Debora Scott Cox Pennington, age 68, of Fulton, passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, May 25, 2026.
She was born on June 20, 1957, in Front Royal, to the late Lincoln Wyatt Scott and Elizabeth Williams Scott.
Debora was a talented stained glass window restorer and co-owner of Church Art Glass in Clinton, alongside her longtime partner, Jim Hielscher. Through her craftsmanship and dedication, she helped preserve the beauty and history of countless stained glass works. She enjoyed karaoke, loved peacocks, music, and dancing, and especially treasured spending time with friends and relaxing outdoors in her yard.
She is survived by her partner of more than 30 years, Jim Hielscher of Fulton, KY; her children, Ann Marie (Randy) Smith of Front Royal, VA, John Wayne (Jamie) Cox of Front Royal, VA, Daniel Hillman Cox of Fulton, KY, Shena Marie Cox of Fulton, KY, Shannon Garza of Fulton, KY, Jimmy (Sherri) Hielscher Jr. of La Crosse, MN, Luke Haug of Fulton, KY, Jesse (Jill) Schmall of Boise, ID and Jammie (Cody) Daigle of Pensacola, FL.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Mariah Cox and Courtney Cox, both of Front Royal, VA; Tristan Lalley and Shane Lalley, both of Fulton, KY; Ashley Grady of Martinsburg, WV; Jessa (Joe) Drinkwine of Harmony, MN; Kayle Hielscher (Zac Swanson) of Bloomington, MN; Quantella Anderson of Fulton, KY; Shadow Lee of Pine Island, MN; and Izabella Ray of Fulton, KY. She is further survived by her great-grandchildren, Kynzie and Skielar Grady and Tristan Kirby, all of Front Royal, VA, as well as eleven great-grandchildren through the Hielscher family.
Additional survivors include her sisters, Ileen (Michael) Ramey of Front Royal, VA, and Nancy (Carland) Brooks of Strasburg, VA; and her half-brother, Robert Scott of North Carolina.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Hillman Olden Cox; a daughter, Ronda Hielscher; her brothers, Lincoln Scott, Jimmy Scott, Jerry Scott, and Wesley Scott; her sister, Janet Norman; and her great-grandson, Levi Lujan.
There will be no services held at the funeral home.
