Ms. Debbie Kay Ward, age 71, of Hickman, KY passed away Thursday, August 7, 2025, at her home.

She was born on June 26, 1954, in Hickman, KY to the late Luther A. Harris and Mildred Love Harris.

Debbie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hickman. She worked for the Fulton County P.V.A office. Debbie loved her family and enjoyed gardening, yard work, painting, and carpentry. She loved laughing and having a good time.

Some people have a light so bright, it touches everyone around them. Deborah was one of those rare souls.

Her smile could truly light up a room. It wasn't just beautiful; it made you feel like everything was going to be okay. And her laugh! Her laugh was absolutely infectious. When she laughed, you laughed with her- whether you meant to or not. It was one of those laughs that lifted your spirit and made the moment better, every time.

She had a heart that was always open. She was the first to lend a helping hand, to listen without judgement, and to show up when it mattered most. She never needed recognition for her kindness-it was simply who she was.

She was full of life- vibrant, funny, strong, endlessly loving. She taught, not just through her words, but by example. She will forever be loved, and her memories will forever be cherished.

She is survived by two daughters, Dana Wagner of Ohio and Brook Craddock Cermak (Matt) of Hickman, KY; three grandchildren, Delaynee M. Cermak of Martin, TN, Emmarie L. Cermak of Hickman, KY, and Kolin Wagner of Ohio; several nieces and nephews; five sisters, Maureen Harrison of Hickman, KY, June Roberts (Doc) of Hickman, KY, Vickie Ethridge of Ellicott City, MD, Pam Wyman of Hickman, KY, and Cheryl Lunsford (Gary) of Union CIty, TN; a brother, Col. Gary Harris (Barbara) of Fisherville, KY; and two sisters in law, Mary C. Harris of Hickman, KY and Faye D. Harris of Birmingham, AL.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, David E. Ward; a sister, Shelley Wheeler; and four brothers, Leon Harris, Roger Harris, Kelly Ray Harris, and Gerald Harris.

A memorial visitation for Ms. Debbie Kay Ward will be held at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel in Hickman, KY from 5PM until 7PM Friday, August 15, 2025.
