DaFayne Antoinette Stunson

Ms. DaFayne Antoinette Stunson, age 80, of Dawsonville, Georgia, formerly of South Fulton, Tennessee, peacefully departed this life on August 24, 2026, at her residence.

She was born on July 17, 1946, in Fulton, Kentucky, to the late Treasure Rogers, Sr. and Constance Hopkins Rogers. From her early years, DaFayne was blessed with a loving family and a life filled with purpose, determination, and service to others.

DaFayne was a faithful member of Greater Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, where as a child found fellowship, strength, and spiritual encouragement. She was a dedicated educator and speech pathologist who devoted her professional life to helping children find their voices and reach their fullest potential. Throughout her distinguished career, she worked with several school systems and touched the lives of countless students, families, and fellow educators.

Her commitment to education was reflected in her outstanding academic achievements. DaFayne earned her Ph.D. in Education from Virginia Tech University, a testament to her intelligence, perseverance, and lifelong dedication to learning.

Outside of her professional life, DaFayne had a zest for life and enjoyed making memories with those she loved. She enjoyed traveling and, in her younger years, could often be found jogging and staying active. She also had a special gift for baking, particularly pound cakes and Kentucky Derby pies, and her family will forever cherish the sweetness she brought into their lives-not only through her baking, but through her love, wisdom, and presence.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory, her daughter, Kelly Ealy of Dahlonega, Georgia, and her son, Clyde E. Stunson, Jr. of Charlotte, North Carolina; five grandchildren, Jordan Price of Spotsylvania, Virginia; Gabriyel Ealy, Kamiylah Ealy, Amari Ealy, and Hayden Edmonson, all of Dahlonega, Georgia; three great-grandchildren, Isabella Price and Tiger Price, both of Spotsylvania, Virginia, and Luca Henderson of Dahlonega, Georgia; two brothers, Treasure Rogers, Jr. of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Martinez Rogers of Los Angeles, California; along with other relatives, friends, church family, former colleagues, and all those whose lives she touched.

In addition to her parents, DaFayne was preceded in death by her former husband, Clyde E. Stunson, Sr., and her sister, Connie Rogers.

Though she has taken her rest, the legacy of Ms. DaFayne Antoinette Stunson will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, friends, students, colleagues, and the many lives she touched throughout her journey.

Memorial services for Ms. DaFayne Antoinette Stunson will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Greater Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service.

Family, friends, church family, former colleagues, and loved ones are invited to come together to celebrate her life, honor her legacy, and give thanks for the time God allowed her to share with us.
