Charles Huffman Akers

May 18, 1929 — October 7, 2008

He was of Church of Christ Faith. He graduated from Murray State University. He was a school teacher and coach at South Fulton High School. He was a
veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served in the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Joesphine (Gatton) Akers of South Fulton, TN.4 sons- Charles H. Akers, Jr., Phillip Akers, George Blane Akers, and Mike Akers all of South Fulton, TN. A brother Steve Baker of McKenzie, TN. 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ernest Lee and Neelie (Haynes) Akers,a daughter Pamela Kay Akers, 2 brothers Jim and Dick Akers and a sister Sissy
Moody.

Funeral services for Mr. Charles Akers will be held at 2 PM Friday in our funeral chapel. Burial will follow in the Greenlea Cemetery. Friends may call the funeral home from 5 to 8 PM Thursday and anytime Friday until the funeral hour.
