Ann Holt Newton

Ms. Ann Holt Newton, age 68, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2025, in Florence, AL.

She was born July 20,1957, in Tupelo, MS, to the late Edward R. Holt and Shirley Houston Holt.

Ms. Ann, was of the Methodist faith, had lived in Iuka, MS before moving to Killen, AL two years ago. She was a retired registered nurse who cared deeply for others throughout her career.

She is survived by two sons, Samuel Reid Newton of Key West, FL and Thomas Holt Newton and his wife LaShea of Toney, AL; one grandchild, Radlee Newton of Toney, AL; and one sister, Ellen Holt I'Anson and her husband David of Florence, AL.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Mickey" Newton; her stepmother, Caroletta Samuels Holt; and one sister, Susan Holt Wait.

Funeral services for Ms. Ann Holt Newton will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in Greenlea Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, December 5, 2025, at the funeral home from 12:00 PM until the hour of service.
