Mr. Aaron Sanders, Jr., age 90, of Bolivar, Tennessee, peacefully transitioned from this life on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Bolivar General Hospital in Bolivar, Tennessee.
He was born on August 6, 1935, in Jackson, Tennessee, to the late Aaron Sanders, Sr. and Lula Mae Isabell Sanders. From an early age, Mr. Sanders was known for his strength, dedication, and love for family.
Mr. Sanders was formerly employed with Schaumburg Toyota in Schaumburg, Illinois. After many years of hard work, he later made Bolivar, Tennessee his home, where he had resided for the past 25 years.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory his children: Valerie Sanders (Barry Wright) of Streamwood, IL; Melissa Sanders (George Singleton) of Elgin, IL; Betty Mitchell of Jackson, TN; Linda Sanders of Bolivar, TN; Felisa Sanders (Rowley) of Indianapolis, IN; Missy Swift Shepley (Anthony Fryerson) of Ridgely, TN; Susan Swift of Hickman, KY; Will Swift of Ridgely, TN; and Dewayne Sanders (Rashida) of West Dundee, IL; one sister, Barbara Jean Spearman of Jackson, TN; along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends, three sisters-in-law: Sadie Caldwell, Charlotte Udley and Lisa Smith all of Hickman, Kentucky, six brothers-in-law; Clarence Gilbert (Ozella) of Clinton, Kentucky, Joseph Gilbert of Hickman. Kentucky, Carl Gilbert (Janice) of Hickman, Kentucky, Jackie Gilbert (Liz) of Hickman, Kentucky, Cory Smith (Felisha) of Fulton, Kentucky, Charles Johnson of Hickman, Kentucky.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Sanders was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Lauretta Gilbert Sanders, and his son, Richard Sanders, a granddaughter, Starjonea Sanders, two sisters-in laws and two brothers-in-laws.
A Homegoing Celebration honoring the life and legacy of Mr. Aaron Sanders, Jr. will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Johnson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, located at 1209 Rev. J. Roberson Way, Hickman, Kentucky 42050. Rev., Dr. Steven Turner will officiate. Interment will follow in Hickman City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at Johnson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
